A graduate in Drawing and Painting from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Ian regularly exhibits both painting and ceramics in galleries throughout Scotland.
His work is represented in public collections in the UK and also private collections worldwide.
Landscape inspired, the paintings are developed to express and communicate the sense of history or the mood of the subject.
Recent influences include visits to Italy, Baroque Music and the intimate landscape around his studio.
